Mask

By: Ashlee Zlotnick

We wear a mask that grins and smiles.

The way it works is via a dial.

It is an object that hides how we feel,

I sometimes feel, I don’t know who is real.

It allows you to live a lie.

The real you will surly die.

Sure sometimes it helps you heal

And allows you to close a personal deal.

It covers your eyes which hold tears.

And helps you concur your fears.

The things it does is not always bad.

When I wear a mask I’m show I’m glad.

However it does not justify why,

It is ok to live a lie.

We all part of one big lake.

A mask allows us to be fake.

So the next time you put on your mask

Just take a second, to allow yourself to grasp,

What happens when you place it on your face.

It might be better to keep it in its case.

You must be confident to show the real you.

Guaranteed, you will know just what to do.

Be yourself and you will see,

Without the mask you will say, it’s ME.
