Social media is about sociology and psychology rather than technology

I agree with this statement. Social media opens up a world to us that allows us to be social on the internet and allow us to solve our problems quickly and cheaply. The technology is merely the framework.

Sociology is the study of social change, social life and the way in which we live and interact with other human beings. Psychology The scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given context. It is also the mental characteristics or attitude of a person or group. Technology is a body of knowledge used to create tools, develop skills, and extract or collect materials.

Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and so on allows people to air their views for free as well as not having to feel so insecure about what they have to say. It provides people with a certain amount of confidence which results in deep issues and views being spoken about. In today’s society, people especially teenagers are becoming more and more social with others on line thus resulting in new friendships, old friendships coming alive today and families get to stay in touch with their loved ones overseas.

Social media does have its downsides such as stalkers, pedophile and more however if you only talk to people you know and you are certain they can be trusted then you communicate with them but until then, you must not talk to strangers and people you cannot trust. Technology is a tool that allows us to communicate and in the end, it does not matter what piece of technology you use, as long as you are able to do what everyone else is doing in the web then it is ok. Social media is a trend. A new site goes up, everyone wants it and then we get bored of it and find a new one to chat yet again. It allows you to talk to people about your deepest secrets, seek help for all kinds of professionals as well as gossip about others which is another down side.

To conclude I would like to state that this statement is true and I agree with it a hundred percent because social media is about the people and not about what devices are used to connect one another
