My fishing trip

By:Ashlee Zlotnick

The thought of having to fish
was not something I was looking forward to.
I come from the city and don’t like to get my hands dirty
but this was something I just had to do.

So there I was getting in the boat.
I did not have a life jacket on, I know that was wrong
but soon we started to glide across the water
and nature was singing its amazing song.

I began to become very fond of the idea of fishing
and sitting and tanning on the boat.
We came home with 40 fish
but I wouldn’t want to gloat.

Out on the water taught me a lot.
I had time to reconnect with me.
I learnt what life means to my heart
and how much I truly love my family.

I am back

I am back, relaxed and ready to take over the world now. HAHAHAHAHA just kidding guys by on a serious note; I have not been this relaxed the whole year and it feels great I tell you.

All I have done for the best 5 days is: fish, tan, fish some
more, eat what I caught and slept. This is something that I have needed to do in a long time. This year has been rough and I am not one who encourages running away from ones problems but let me tell you running away this time is what was needed. I had no way to contact the world which meant there was no way
they could contact me! Life without a phone, internet and well any way to socialise with people other than the people I was with was fantastic. There is nothing better than becoming one with nature. Out on the water with s fishing rod in my hand, great company and fishes that were not very willing to meet me
gave me a chance to clear my head and think about everything that is happening in my life. I came to the realisation that today’s generation is way too dependent on technology. The first day here I thought I was going to die because I could not receive BBMS or send them and as it was I had to live without them for 3 days. Not being able to connect to the internet was ok. I could write down my poems on a piece of paper and blog about them when I got home( which I will post soon I promise) Look at me though, I am still alive and I didn’t use my phone for 5 days.

This week away has taught me that I don’t need to use my phone the whole time and that I can survive without it. So I am going
to start a new thing in my life and I think you all should try do the same: for an hour a day I am going to not answer my phone, not use the TV and just have time for myself to recover from everything that has happened that day and have time for me. I won’t worry about anyone for that hour and after it I will go
back to my life. This will be my way to escape from life for an hour and recover. You can help that person after but you can’t help them if you can’t help yourself.

Good evening everyone:)  I hope you have been having a fantastic evening.

Why is it that all you bloggers out there created a blog? I know the reason I did it was so that people could read my poetry and so that I could have a space where I know people would listen to my opinion about life and how things work especially relationships.

Honestly there is nothing better than sitting in front of my netbook after a long and eventful day and writing about it on my blog. I cannot wait to come home and tell you guys out there about a lesson I learnt that day or share a poem I wrote in my spare time.

Us bloggers have created a family amongst ourselves and I love it!!!! I wish everyone would do create their own blog. It is a place where you can be you without anyone knowing your name. It is your own personal bubble of words, pictures and thoughts. Blogs would not be so successful if it was not for all you followers and viewers so I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for being there for me and listening to what I have to say.

Sleep tight everyone, catch you all later alligator

Time To Yourself

By:Ashlee Zlotnick

Life is stressful

never hassle free.

Sometimes I feel its difficult

to be just me.

There is never time alone.

Time to just think.

Time to sit in silence.

Time to make life’s link.

With all that’s going on

life is never easy.

In the mist of it all

you find yourself a nit sneezy.

You are always in demand.

If it’s not school, its friends.

If it’s not family, its your passion.

Life requires a balance and a blend.

Stress is good for you

and being in demand means you are loved.

But you need to take time for yourself.

Alone time is your protection, just like a doctor’s hand is gloved.
